To me its like," let the death bury their death, while the living cash their cheque. This is yet another unbelievable story. It is a true life event publish in Nigeria News paper. It all happens when Mallam Ks wife gave birth to a bouncing baby girl. His friend and contemporary, came into share in the joy with him. Mallam Ks friend is a successful farmer, and happens to be richer than Mallam K. overwheim by the visit of this August visitor, Mallam K honoured his friend by promising to give him the new born baby girl as wife when she grow up. I will like to say here that in my Community Hausa Fulani we have a unique culture. Our race are very beautiful especially girls, very few of us are ugly. This new born baby girl is so beautiful that the friend found her irresistable. He accepted. I need to say here that, the woman has no say when such decision are taken. The mother of this beautiful girl weep and weep at the decision of her husband. She reported the case to her family but her father ruled out, that the father of a daughter is by islamic injuction permitted, or has obslute right to choose a husband for his daughter. This poor woman resign to faith, hoping that the dee day may never arise. Mallam Ks friend, structured his mind that this beautiful girl when she attend maturity will be his wife. Therefore he kept labouring in form of sending giveth to the parent of this little girl. The gives at the begining where in piece meals, and progresses doubled as the girl grow further. At age 6 Mallam Ks friend double his visits. This time with gives to the mother of the girl. Mallam Ks friend advanced farming loan to the father of this girl, and his farm started to flourish. Mallam K kept demanding all sort of loan from his friend, while this girl kept growing. Unknowing to Mallam K his friend was documenting all this giveth. The girl in question now has attend the age of 9. Mallam Ks friend and suitor, made a formal introduction to the girl. This girl has all the while though the fathers friend was generous. suprised at the revelation, confronted her mother and registered her disagreement. The girl reported the case to her uncles and a meeting was arranged. Mallam K was summon by his elder and confronted with the case at hand. He informed them that he conceded the daughter to his friend from birth according to the culture, tradition and religious believes of the North. He further informed them that the friend has help him a great deal and cannot turn his back on him. Since Mallam Ks act was not outside the norms, the Uncles turned their back on the girl and asked the father to arrange for the marriage immediately.
Mallam K was excited. He send for his friend and asked him to come forward to perform the ritual and suggest the date he want his wife. Meanwhile this girl was just 11 and in the primary school. Mallam K was already 55years so is his friend the husband to be. This marriage was conducted without regards to the girls feelings. This girl was taken to her fathers friends house as wife. The girl put up serious resistance to allowing the fathers friend go into her. Being a baby the father pick up query with the girls mothers and subsequently deviorce the mother. This girl was forced via two people holding her legs to allow the man find his way with such a small girl. She was nursed by elderly women for one week. After that first experience baby bride ran away to relations severally , but was returned to her fathers friend house. With no hope to help, she set to run away from the village to God knows where. She succeeded in taken cover in some villagers house for 5days, with the help of her blood male brothers. On this faithful day, she set to run away to the city, but her fathers friend has lay armbush. He cut up with her and chop off her two legs living her in the pool of her blood at the middle of the road, within narrow farm part covered by grown crops. A villeger sighted her pick her up and took her to her fathers house. She was rush to the hospital, with two legs amputated by the supposed husband.
