THE DREAM!!

My name is Woman!

I am a beautiful strong African and this is my dream!!

I dream that one day I could get an education just like my brother.

I dream that one day I could inherit my father’s property and own mine as a woman.

I dream that I would not be forced into child marriage, so my brideprice would be used to take care of my brothers.

I dream that one day I would escape this domestic violence as a wife.

I dream that one day I would be made board of director in my workplace and not be discriminated upon, because of my gender.

I dream that one day I would break the shackles of child Labour.

I dream that I would not be judged by my inability to birth children.

I dream that one day the gender pay gap will be bridged.

I dream for my hair not to be shaven because i am a widow. I dream that one day I would not be judged based on an abortion.

I dream that I could get over the trauma of being raped.

I dream that one day I can afford a sanitary pad.

I dream that one day I won’t be body shamed.

I’ve always been asked: “what is your dream?”

MY DREAM IS FOR THESE DREAMS NOT TO BE DREAMS BUT REALITY.
