Shrinking Civic Space Community Dialogue -Rural Voices

On 10th July 2023, Haki Nawiri Afrika organised a Shrinking Civic Space Dialogue for rural communities in Kaani-Machakos County with support from Innovation for Change -Africa Hub. Present in the forum were government officials, activists , youth and farmers .We were also honoured to host World Pulse Kenya members and the President World Pulse.

The forum unpacked shrinking civic space and also involve experience sharing on how the civic space is curtailed, including how civic space is affected from a smallholder farmers perspective. Participants also went through access to justice including the justice procedure in the Kenyan context and strategies of countering shrinking civic space .It was also an opportunity to learn about the work of World Pulse members and the history of world Pulse from Jensine-The World Pulse President which was quite inspiring.
