My journey with self care began much years ago , when I literally crashed and burned mentally , emotionally and physically I was so tired and drained ,I literally came to the end of myself
There I was busy ,working hard giving 100 plus percent to the vision of someone else , giving the best of myself with little time to spare for me ,and while others reaped the benefits ,I lost myself
A negative event caused me to stop and rethink the direction I was heading in and i had to make some strong decision to put myself frist , to love myself unselfishly again and pursue my dreams and my purpose
It was the best decision with the help of God I have made ,had I stayed there living in someones shadow you would not have met fabulous me , you would have been denied my purposeful taughts through my writing and the opportunity to share my vision , and I would have lost out on so much here at World Pulse
Loving myself meant ,closing the doors on certain relationships that didnt serve me , it meant putting my future goals in perspective , it meant caring for myself physically ,mentaly ,emotionally .It meant saying no . It meant giving myself permission to relax ,to take a weekoff experiencing the things I love , strolling the beach early in the morning , going on a hike in the mountains , reading , writing sharing my taughts ,travelling to an Island , meeting up with friends .
Self Care for me is a total package ,it isnt just about the physical aspects , its seeking a deeper spiritual walk with my God , freeing myself of worry about things I cannot change and allowing Gods purpose to be revealed in me ,so m free to flow and grow .
Last weeks session with Kirthi was indeed enlightening , apart from the general discussion ,the break out rooms gave us a chance to converse and share our version of self care , some spoke of yoga , or taking long walks ,or getting away from it all by travelling, or simply doing nothing allowing yourself guiltless resting .
I encourage you all to participate in this trainathon it explores the benefits of self care and reminds us of its importance in our daily lives
