Q&A Calls for Module 1, Next Week!

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick reminder that our first Q&A calls are happening next week on the 22nd or 23rd. They will be held at the same time as our calls this week (7am on the 22nd and 9am PST on the 23rd). If you could please confirm which call you will be attending by the end of this week, that would be great. These calls are a chance for you to speak with Cristi Hegranes of the Press Institute, and ask her any questions you may have about the citizen journalism learning materials and assignment, and to ask Scott or myself about the social media learning materials.

For those of you who have had difficulties calling in through Skype, I think we've figured out the problem! When dialing the Skype number, you must leave the "select country" area blank. That means it should say either nothing, or it should still read "select country". If you have the "United States" selected, you will be asked for credit, and this is not correct.

The best thing to do is to "add" the Skype number I sent you to your contacts. Go to "Contacts" and select "add a contact". You will then have the option to add a number. Just leave the country selection tab as it is! Then, this number will show up in your contacts, and all you have to do is click on the green call icon to connect! (see the attached photo for details).

For those of you who have problems calling in still, I will be on the call 15 min beforehand, to help you with any technical difficulties. Make sure to add me, rachaelmh, and Scott, mrbeckbeck, to your Skype contacts!
