Princess Angeline: The eldest daughter of Chief Seattle refused to leave her land. The daughter of Chief Sealth for whom the city of Seattle is named was a life long supporter of the white settlers. She was converted to Christianity and named by Mrs D. S. Maynard.- 1811 Princess Angeline befriended the pioneers during the Indian attack upon Seattle on January 26, 1856. Abalone May Have Been Imported (Native Women Traded) These beautiful contemporary-looking abalone earrings are worn with a shredded cedar bark cape. The abalone, larger than the local kind, may have been imported from California through extensive trade route networks that linked the Northwest Coast in the pre-contact era.

Native women were in charge of the economy, which Christianity and School policies enforced change, giving men lead rolls in the family. The Policy would forever cause serious social crisis, and collapse of longhouse culture and family traditions; presently causing a crisis situation in the longhouse today.
\"Fasting
Fasting and cleansing body during 1st menstrual cycle. Coast Salish Women go into the mountains, and remain isolated from the community until her cycle is over. Known as the Moon Cycle. There is no linear time, only cycles of moon time for the Indigenous Nations. Its an important time of passage from girl to women, and the grandmother usually walks her through the steps of change. She must go through a number of different teachings, before leaving isolation. Menstrual cycle means, she can give life. It is not only a change, but she then becomes a vehicle of the Creator, as all of life on on Earth gives birth so does she! She learns to tie knots from cedar, which is probably very hard. The cedar comes from a cedar tree, and she must get the cedar strips from the tree. She requires physical strength and persistence to do that! and learns her place in her community from her Grandmother. She is not only transformed, in body but spirituality and becomes one with Mother Earth during that time of transition from girl to women. She is taught from her grandmother. Those teachings are unacceptable today, because of church and colonial rules. Aho

We seek to gain a strong foundation of cultural protocols of Indigenous Women of the Longhouse of Coast Salish Territory for advancement and acknowledgement.



Over-view of what I do: 



Enhance the well-being of individuals & collective agreements under Sovereignty of Coast Salish Territory for the purpose of a national voice.  Increase individual and collective governance and Indigenous management.  Advancement of Indigenous women across all levels of government, public and private sector, and gain self-governance and management.  Building capacity and initiatives in all areas of programming and services for Indigenous women & children designed to meet their needs in Canadian Society in cooperation with Indigenous organisations for future advancement and agreements. We promote participation of Indigenous women for all stages and levels of personal development.  We place the interest of Indigenous women and children above self-interest.  Utilising traditional and cultural protocols valuing women and children’s rights. Charter of Rights and Freedoms of religion and acting with honesty and integrity, and strive to enhance equality within a foreign belief systems.  To apply Indigenous traditional justice initiatives within existing national justice system for appropriate treatment using Indigenous traditional and cultural value system.  We offer wisdom, technology and intelligence.
