I truly enjoy taking time to raed the stories posted by my sisters here on world pulse , they come in varied topics and I learn so much , the ones that stick with me are the ones that have substance , the ones that really tell a story , the ones that jerk a response out of me, that takes my mind on a virtual journey or peaks my interest in a topic or imform me about global concerns .
Some stories are personal to the writers and it stirs up empathy ,while others are fighting for a cause
Every story is worthy of being read .
I think the many lessons from the trainings have helped in us creating effective stories .
What makes a story effective though , is it its, lenght ,its content , ist thrilling , is it filled with juicy details , or does content leave you abruptly .?
According to the American Press Institute ,I quote ,
Treatment trumps topic. How a story is told is more important to the audience than its topic, what it is about. The best story is a well-told tale about something the reader feels is relevant or significant.
The best stories are more complete and more comprehensive. They contain more verified information from more sources with more viewpoints and expertise. They exhibit more enterprise, more reportorial effort. end Ouote .
So its important not to just share our stories , but back it up with well researched data as well ,especially if we are sharing stories on global issues , like human trafficking , climate change or abuse ..,having figures or imformation from studies ,helps to strenghten your POV.
Lesson 3 as presented by Kirthi also touched on ethics especially when narrating the story of others , ensuring that proper permissions are granted and credit is given .
This course is very helpful in equipping us ,or sharpening our skills in producing effective stories .
