Girls in Liberia, Africa

In July 2008 I joined a Methodist mission team and went to Liberia to help at a school we support. I met many girls and young women, who have been motivated to get an eduation and set some goals for their lives, other than having babies, as their culture expects. Even though Liberia is recovering from war and is experiencing lack of jobs, the program leaders are very encouraged by the increased attendance and I heard girls saying they wanted to become teachers and doctors. I came home committed to helping them financially and with prayer.
