Generous Robina

Robina  was a ten year old village girl who used to spend all her time playing with the village children,her mother used to scold her  for not doing studies and wasting time all day loitering here and there , but Robina never listened to her though she loved her  mother very much and many times helped her mother in household works. She had no interest in studies and all she wanted was to play the whole day, so one day her  mother called her brother John from the town to take Robina along with him and get her admitted to a public school for good education.

Robina was very sad to leave her  mother alone in town but John took her along with him to his town and got her admitted to a public school near  his house. Robina was very sad for first few days as she found the education in public somewhat hard for her but her uncle was very strict so she had no other choice. On holidays Robina accompanied John to his grocery shop and helped her  uncle in the shop.John used to give home-delivery to some customers for this he had a helper boy in his shop but that day he was absent from the shop so John asked Robina to deliver the things to the customer .Robin hesitated at first but then she agreed ,

As she was new to the place she had to ask some people to reach the correct address.On her way she had to cross some apartments.While passing one apartment she saw an old couple playing with their grandchild, who was playing with a ball.

While playing his ball reached Robina who passed back the ball to them .The old couple called her, she went to them.They offered her  snacks and beverages. Robina was very pleased and thanked them for the snacks.She then went to deliver the grocery to the address. 

While going back she had to cross the same apartment where she met the old couple. She heard the  endless cries of child , for a moment she thought what had happened she went to see what was the matter? She went to the apartment and found the door was opened and the old couple was lying injured on the floor and their grandchild in craddle was crying bitterly.The whole apartment was very messy and the cash and jewellery of the house was missing , she saw all the almirahs were opened .

She was shocked and ran to the neighbors for help but they said they do not know her how can they help her, she hurriedly rushed back to the apartment and searched for the telephone directory and found the number of a private doctor , she explained the whole situation to the doctor. Within minutes doctor arrived and did the first-aid to the couple and asked her who was she to the old couple she said she was just a passer-by and heard the cries of child so rushed in to see what went wrong.

Doctor gave a broad smile and then he sat with her besides the old couple  till the son and daughter-in-law of the old couple returned home from the job. They were very surprised to see how a stranger girl came forward to help their parents and not a single neighbor was of any help.The whole family thanked Robina and asked her whereabouts. Robina told them everything and then the son of old couple took her  to her  house and told her  uncle John about her act  of generosity, her uncle was very worried where has she gone he was to about to scold her for being late but when he came to know about her act, he forgot his anger and hugged her  lovingly. The son of old couple said he wants to sponsor education of Robina till she wants to study. John was very happy and thanked him. John called his sister from village and asked her to live with them in town and when Robina's mother came to know about how she helped the old couple she was very pleased and hugged her daughter  smilingly.
